Sunday Funday!

The Mariners turn to Logan Gilbert to close the door on the ALCS. Gilbert has been solid on the season, but the Blue Jays lineup does actually have a decent history against him. Vlad, Springer and Kirk are all batting over .300 against him in their careers.

I’d probably rank Vlad Guerrero as the top bat for the Jays. His Pitch Mix numbers aren’t great, but he’s 6-17 off Gilbert (.353 avg) with two of those hits HRs and two doubles. He also only has a 10% K rate against him so he’s gonna put the ball in play. George Springer has the best Pitch Mix numbers (.345/.468/.552). He’s batting .313 against Gilbert, but also has a 36.8% K rate.

For the Mariners, it’s a little bit of a wild card since we have no idea what to expect from trey Yesavage who has been unhittable one game and VERY hittable the next this postseason. You have to think the leash will be pretty short as well since its a must win game for the Jays. Also, his outs line is 11.5 so Vegas agrees.

Julio Rodriguez doesn’t have an ideal AVG/wOBA/ISO breakout (.250/.375/.406) but his HardHit% and Barrel rate are both very strong and four of his 8 hits against the Pitch Mix are HRs. Josh Naylor has a great average against the Mix but low on power (.462/.543/.154). Cal Raleigh looks great again like always (.387/.481/.452).

Let’s go get some GREEN!
