Happy Friday Everyone!
The World Series is ready to kick off tonight, so we will dive in to plays/matchups to consider. Terry Rozier hasn’t returned any of my calls, so I don’t have insider insights, just the same ol’ Plunder logic that got us through a very successful 2025.
Looking back on the season I can certainly say it was a GRIND. Baseball as a whole is a grind and I always say from a gambling perspective that it is a straight up WAR of trusting the process and riding the high highs and the low lows.
In tracking all of our plays for the season (so far), I am really proud to share that we are +76.9 units in the GREEN for 2025! That means even a $10 a unit bettor is currently sitting on a $769 profit. It makes me really happy to know that I could help people turn a profit this baseball season, especially when you’re forking over your hard-earned dollars for the premium version of my picks.
To those that subscribed this year … I offer a very sincere THANK YOU. You put your trust in me and I don’t take that lightly, so thank you for that. Some quick housekeeping … this week I will be cancelling everyone’s accounts so there will be no recurring charges in the offseason. Baseball is a little wonky because an “annual” subscription is really only 9 months, so I have to cancel it all manually. That said, nobody should get charged a penny come November and please let me know if something goes wrong on your end and I will fix it.
OK … on to game 1 of the World Series!
Not surprisingly we will have two strong pitchers on the mound for game 1. For the Dodgers, I think Blake Snell o17.5 outs is a little juicy, but very much in play. The weakness of this Dodgers team is their bullpen, so I have no doubt they will want to get as many outs as possible from their starters. Snell has been a beats to boot.
For batters, Mookie Betts matches up well against the Pitch Mix (.389/.385/.167) but only has two extra base hits (7-18 overall), so it might be more of a singles/H+R+R situation. The left-handed trio of Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani and Max Muncy all have good numbers against the Pitch Mix. Ohtani is the GOAT and Freddie always seems to deliver in the postseason, but something in my Plunder gut tells me Max Muncy is going yard tonight, so I may start there.
For the Jays, Ernie Clement has been hot all postseason and has hit lefties well all season, so he’s about the only person I “like” against an elite arm like Snell. Vlad is Vlad, so he’s always in play as well.
Here’s the reality of the situation … this is the World Series to every moment is going to be huge, pitching matchups will change constantly and anything is possible. My advice is to dabble in 2-3 plays and then sit back and just enjoy the games.
That’s about it … Let’s go get some GREEN!
